PSC leads ‘Fijian Made’ campaign

The Public Service Commission (PSC) will work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in promoting the ‘Fijian Made and Buy Fijian’ campaign.

n their quest to promote the campaign promotional billboards will be placed at various Government premises.

PSC Permanent Secretary Parmesh Chand said they have had discussions with the Ministry regarding the location of the billboards, which will include the Government Service Centre (GSC) in Suva.

“The GSC is located at a central area where people enter and leave Suva City so having the campaign billboard placed at the site will promote the campaign messages,” he said. Mr Chand said the PSC, in 2011, had invested in buying locally produced mahogany timber to build a lounge for staff use. He said all Government ministries, departments and agencies were now required to serve locally made products and fruits at morning teas and lunches hosted respectively by them to show support for the campaign.

The ‘Fijian Made and Buy Fijian’ campaign was launched by the Fijian Government in 2011 to create a Fijian brand to promote Fijian made products and produce, both domestically and abroad, through a national branding strategy.
